Cannabis flower is a term used for the flowering part of the cannabis plant, which can either be male or female. The female flowers typically produces THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and other cannabinoids in higher amounts than the other parts of the plant. THC is recognized as the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. When THC enters the blood stream, it attaches onto a molecule called a cannabinoid receptor that produces effects like euphoria, hallucinations or heightened sensory experiences. This compound can be seen on the plant and are known as “crystalline” or “crystals” – these can be found on the trichomes.
Cannabis flower can be used in a variety of ways – through a bong or pipe, using papers to roll, and vaporizing. It has been found that cannabis flower can serve as a potential anti-inflammatory medicine to treat a host of conditions including cancer, chronic pain, arthritis, convulsions, glaucoma, insomnia and more.
